In, 2021, Armin Schober, an Austrian, and his wife Huang Qiong took their daughter Alina on a trip to Yixian county, Huangshan city, Anhui province.
Captivated by its beautiful natural scenery, rich cultural heritage, and distinctive local architecture, they decided to put down roots there.
The couple took over a guesthouse in Tachuan village and named it Alina's Garden.
In the idyllic countryside of southern Anhui, Alina is growing up carefree, her days filled with freedom and fun. She runs through the fields with her local friends, chatting about the cartoons and movies they love.
In her spare time, she practices martial arts. Her parents hired a martial arts master, and she trains under the instructor for two and a half hours every day without fail.
According to her mother, Huang, martial arts have brought Alina closer to Chinese culture and become part of her daily life.
Growing up in a multicultural family, Alina is fluent in both Chinese and English. She often helps her parents host visitors from around the world, serving as a bridge between China and the wider world.
During the 2026 World Mayors Dialogue in Huangshan, held in late May, she and her parents welcomed international guests.
She performed martial arts and Huangmei opera, earning round after round of applause.
