An ancient line from Yu Xin of the Southern and Northern Dynasties (420-581) tells us: "When you reap fruits, you remember the tree; when you drink water, you remember its source." China's relations with other countries are not simply about taking what it can get. They involve a process of mutual benefit and reciprocity. This is genuine win-win cooperation, not zero-sum rivalry.
