The traditional datiehua (molten iron fireworks) show lit up the night sky above the river at Millennium City Park in Kaifeng, Henan province, on Friday evening.

Following the pyrotechnics, dancers dressed in traditional costumes staged The Heavenly Maiden Scatters Flowers. Floating midair gracefully, they offered audiences a chance to soak in timeless romance and beauty.

The shows were highlights of the 2026 Weibo Travel Night and the "Voices of Henan" Cultural and Tourism Podcast Conference, which was held at the park.

At the event, social media platform Sina Weibo and the Henan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism officially co-launched a podcast project to promote high-quality cultural and tourism content of Henan, aiming to nurture a group of outstanding creators who understand the province.

"Stories about Henan's cultural and tourism sector are both profound and vibrant, grand and detailed, traditional and fashionable. They deserve to be discovered, told and shared," Huang Dongsheng, head of the Henan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, said in his speech.

Wang Xiang, deputy Party Secretary of Sina Weibo, said that the joint initiative explores new ways for cultural and tourism outreach. Sina Weibo will leverage its advantages as a social media platform and its interest-based content ecosystem to support creators in telling stories of Henan via podcasts, videos and graphics.

Six celebrities including Cao Lei, Huang Cancan and Zhuo Yuan attended the launch and shared their impressions of Henan's culture, history and cuisine.

Various awards were also presented to individuals, podcasts, domestic, inbound and overseas destinations, and scenic spots in recognition of their achievements on Sina Weibo for 2025-26.

Millennium City Park attracts numerous visitors for its immersive experiences, as NPC (non-player character) performers breathe life into characters from Chinese history and classic literature. As one of the supporting activities of the event, a fair was hosted within the theme park, where tourists could enjoy Henan's intangible cultural heritage, including paper-cutting, and shadow puppetry.

A separate forum was held during the day, with keynote speakers sharing their opinions on trends in the culture and tourism industry and promotions on social media.
