China's Q3 GDP report: What's driving growth beyond the numbers?
China's economy grew 4.6 percent year-on-year in the first three quarters. Beyond the headline growth rate, what structural changes are shaping its future?
New growth engines are already gaining momentum as China's economy undergoes a structural transformation, Zhu Min, former deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund said.
Zhu highlighted high-tech manufacturing and services as important areas of development. Boosting services consumption is key to strengthening domestic consumption, he said, with new technologies such as artificial intelligence helping enhance the services sector.
