Legend has it that Mingtang Mountain takes its name from a ceremonial site known as a "mingtang", which Emperor Wu of Han (r. 140-87 BC) is said to have established here. Nestled in the heart of the Dabie Mountain range in western Anhui province, this site is renowned today for its rugged peaks, sheer cliffs and high-altitude attractions. Craggy rock formations rise through lush forests, drifting mist and sweeping seas of clouds, creating a truly magnificent landscape.
