Kempi Deli at Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center opened a new outdoor terrace on Thursday, marking the completion of its dining cluster along the Liangma River.

The Kempi Deli terrace adds another dining space to the hotel's Liangma River Gourmet Garden. The wider area includes the new terrace, Signature's Terrace, Dragon Palace Chinese Courtyard, Paulaner Beer Garden, and the recently introduced pet-friendly Paulaner Blue Deck, forming a range of outdoor dining venues along the riverfront.

The Kempi Deli terrace is designed to operate throughout the day, beginning with coffee and baked goods in the morning, followed by light cakes and sandwiches in the afternoon, and transitioning to evening service featuring wine and German-style bar snacks.

Offerings include house-baked breads, such as dark rye paired with smoked trout, as well as wine by the glass and small pours of craft beer.

The concept builds on the existing Kempi Deli format, which has long been known in Beijing for European-style bakery items and prepared foods. The deli relocated to the Liangma River site in late 2025 and introduced an expanded all-day dining model alongside retail products.

"The Liangma River has established itself as an iconic symbol of Beijing's international charm, vitality, and premium waterfront lifestyle," said managing director Christian Wiendick.

"With the unveiling of the new Kempi Deli terrace, our Gourmet Garden vision is fully realized. We are proud to present five distinct outdoor dining spaces. This space is not just an extension of our restaurants, but a cherished everyday go-to place where our guests and the local community can create beautiful memories together."

Kempi Deli has operated in Beijing for more than three decades, offering European-style baked goods, sausages and cakes. The Liangma River area has, in recent years, developed into a concentrated hospitality and leisure zone with multiple hotel-operated dining spaces.
