Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing will pay a five-day state visit to China from Monday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian announced on Friday.
China and Myanmar are traditional friendly neighbors and a community with a shared future, Lin said at a regular news conference.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 76 years ago, the two sides have followed the spirit of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, which they jointly advocated, and have stood together through thick and thin, helped each other and worked in solidarity, leading to substantial progress in bilateral relations, he said.
China looks forward to working with Myanmar to take the upcoming visit as an opportunity to carry forward the traditional pauk-phaw ("fraternal" in the Myanmar language) friendship, deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation, and deliver more practical outcomes in building the China-Myanmar community with a shared future, so as to better benefit the two peoples, Lin said.
