Chinese military delegation attends Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore
The Chinese military will send a delegation of experts and scholars to attend the Shangri-La Dialogue security forum in Singapore from Friday to Saturday, a Chinese defense spokesman said on Thursday.
Jiang Bin, the spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense, made the announcement at a regular news conference in Beijing.
The delegation from the People's Liberation Army is led by Meng Xiangqing, a professor at the National Defense University. Other experts and scholars come from the National Defense University, the PLA Academy of Military Science, and the PLA Navy.
China attaches importance to defense and security cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and has always upheld an open and inclusive approach while actively participating in constructive dialogues, said the spokesman.
The Chinese experts and scholars will thoroughly explain China's concepts and initiatives, aiming to build trust, clarify doubts, forge consensus and deepen cooperation, and contribute wisdom to jointly safeguard peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific, Jiang added.
