Thailand will intensify its crackdown on online gambling and telecom fraud, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul told Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a meeting in Bangkok on Friday, as the two sides pledged closer cooperation.
Anutin also said Thailand firmly adheres to the one-China policy and is willing to strengthen the alignment of development strategies with China and expand cooperation across various fields.
He thanked China for its unremitting efforts to help Thailand and Cambodia properly handle their border conflict, and said Thailand looks forward to China continuing to play a constructive role.
Wang said that, amid a turbulent and changing international landscape, China is ready to work with Thailand in a spirit of mutual respect, trust and support, using their longstanding friendship to strengthen strategic coordination and expand cooperation in areas including new energy, infrastructure and agriculture.
He said the aim is to build a China-Thailand community with a shared future that is more stable, more prosperous and more sustainable, and to make fresh contributions to regional stability and development.
Wang also expressed hope that Thailand would step up its crackdown on online gambling and telecom fraud in order to foster a sound environment for bilateral relations.
He added that China will continue to provide a platform for Thailand and Cambodia to maintain contact and dialogue, rebuild mutual trust and improve relations.
