China said on Tuesday that three Chinese vessels have recently sailed through the Strait of Hormuz with coordination from relevant parties, while calling for an early ceasefire and the restoration of peace and stability in the Gulf region.
Speaking at a regular news briefing in Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said the Chinese side appreciated the assistance provided by relevant parties in helping ensure the passage of the ships.
Noting that the Strait of Hormuz and nearby waters are vital routes for international trade in goods and energy, Mao said China urges efforts to secure a ceasefire as soon as possible and restore peace and stability in the Gulf.
