NPC deputy: China is open to global talent

We need to continue opening our doors wide to boost technological innovation. Despite the complex and ever-changing international situation, internationalization remains crucial for advancing scientific innovation and talent cultivation. We must unwaveringly accelerate, expand, and deepen international cooperation in talent development, this means both supporting our students to study abroad and attracting more global talents to China for education.

The remarks were made by Ding Kuiling, a deputy to the National People's Congress and president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, during the 2026 national two sessions.
