Intelligent machines transform, take on everyday tasks
In 2007, a tiny robot named i-Sobot "came to life" at a facility in Dongguan, Guangdong province. The remote-controlled robot, no larger than a palm, could perform about 240 movements, including walking and climbing, with remarkable precision.
This first-generation machine was more than a novelty — it was a microcosm of China's early exploration into intelligent robotics, planting the seeds for a domestic smart equipment industry that would flourish over a span of nearly two decades.
Fast forward to today, and the transformation is outstanding. Chinese robots have evolved from basic walking motions to autonomous thinking and collaborative decision-making. They are no longer confined to research labs but have become tangible carriers of "new quality productive forces" — a concept driven by technological innovation, high efficiency, and high-quality output.
