MOSCOW - Yale University was designated an "undesirable organization" by the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia on Tuesday.
The office said in a statement that it has decided to recognize the activities of the foreign organization Yale University as undesirable in Russia.
According to the office, Yale's activities are aimed at violating Russia's territorial integrity, imposing an international blockade on the country, undermining its economic foundations, and destabilizing its socioeconomic and political situation.
"The university is working to provide legal justification for seizing Russian assets illegally held by Western countries, with the subsequent aim of using these assets to fund the Armed Forces of Ukraine," it added.
US-based Yale is ranked among the world's leading universities and is a member of the Ivy League.
