Immigration management authorities in China have cracked 205 illicit drug cases at the country's ports this year so far, capturing 262 suspects and seizing 2.42 metric tons of drugs, the National Immigration Administration said on Thursday.
The authorities will continue to tackle illicit drug crime harshly, conduct in-depth analysis of drug trafficking routes and methods, and readjust their responses accordingly, an official with the administration said.
They will deepen law enforcement cooperation with ports in neighboring countries to crack down on and deter drug crimes in border areas, the official said.
They will also strengthen efforts to enhance the awareness among people in border areas to prevent drug crime, the official said, adding that the authorities will do their best to stop illicit drugs from flowing into China.
