China's manufacturing PMI at 49 in April

BEIJING -- The purchasing managers' index (PMI) for China's manufacturing sector came in at 49 in April, down 1.5 percentage points from March, official data showed Wednesday.
According to official data, the purchasing managers' index for China's non-manufacturing sector came in at 50.4 in April, down 0.4 percentage points from the previous month.
